Home insulation subsidy
Owner-occupiers of poorly insulated houses in Echt-Susteren can receive up to €1,500 towards HR++ replacement glass arranged through the municipal insulation programme.

The municipal programme can arrange a construction company to replace your existing glass with HR++ insulating glass. Klimaatroute advises you and helps with the application; the legal intermediary is Duurzaam Bouwloket Projecten B.V.
The basic grant covers 100% of reasonable direct installation costs, including VAT, up to €1,500 per dwelling. It is deducted from the installer’s invoice, and the municipality pays the installer after the grant is finalised. New, unused energy-saving materials qualify; tools, ladders, hire, structural materials and finishing materials do not. Other subsidies, including ISDE, may be combined, but together they cannot exceed your actual total costs.
Eligibility
- You must own the house and use it as your main home, or move in immediately after renovation. It must be a house built directly on the ground in Echt-Susteren with energy label D, E, F or G. This entry covers homes with a WOZ property value below €429,300 on 1 January 2022.
- This route covers ordinary homes without monument status, replacing existing windows with at least 3 m² of HR++ glass. The glass must have a U-value of no more than 1.2 W/m²K: this measures heat passing through the glass. The intermediary arranges a company registered in the construction sector in an EU or EEA trade register.
- The work must meet the national Natuurvriendelijk Isoleren requirements for protecting birds and bats living in walls or under roofs.
- A home may receive this municipal subsidy only once. Homes belonging to an owners’ association (VvE), including a mixed association, are excluded. New extensions, bay windows, dormers, sheds, garages and detached outbuildings are excluded, and the work must be technically feasible.
- The municipality may refuse support if its necessity is not demonstrated, the work does not sufficiently benefit the municipality or residents, or the award breaches legal rules.

- Complete applications receive priority in order of receipt while funding remains. Start by calling Klimaatroute on 0475 27 10 56.
- Applications opened on 1 November 2025. Apply before 1 July 2028; funding may run out earlier.
Call Klimaatroute on 0475 27 10 56 to register for a free advice appointment. The municipality currently invites new registrations, with places for a limited number of households.
For this route, apply before the work is carried out. The intermediary supports and checks the application through its digital platform; provide your name, address, house details and chosen route. The municipality decides within eight weeks. Complete applications are considered in order of receipt until the budget is exhausted; submit before 1 July 2028.
Finish within six months after the award decision is sent. The company supplies the intermediary with the area in m², product codes and insulation values, photos before/during/after work, invoice, payment proof and payment-account IBAN. Submit all settlement evidence by the further deadline set in the award decision. Final settlement is decided within eight weeks after complete evidence arrives or the submission period expires; payment to the installer follows within eight weeks. Failure to meet the award conditions can reduce the grant, including to zero.
Notify the municipality immediately in writing if you expect the work or obligations will not be completed fully or on time, and report relevant changes in financial or organisational relations with third parties.
