Energy-efficient vehicle and equipment finance
Discounted loans for small and medium businesses buying approved electric or hybrid vehicles, renewable-energy systems or energy-saving equipment.
Tato příležitost je nyní dostupná v angličtině.
The ANZ Energy Efficient Asset Finance Program reduces the annual interest rate on approved vehicle and equipment finance by 0.80 percentage points. ANZ co-funds the programme with the Clean Energy Finance Corporation. Examples include electric and hybrid vehicles, solar panels, renewable-energy systems, wind turbines and other energy-saving equipment; an ANZ specialist confirms whether your chosen asset qualifies.
With a business car or equipment loan, you own the asset from day one, and ANZ holds a security interest in it until the loan is paid off. You repay the borrowed money and interest through the agreed regular repayments. Both loan types start at AUD 7,500 and offer terms of one to seven years. An establishment fee applies, and pricing is tailored to your business. Company directors may need to give personal guarantees, taking personal responsibility for the company’s loan debt.
An optional balloon payment leaves a lump sum to pay at the end of the loan after your regular repayments. You can pay that amount or apply to refinance it, subject to another credit assessment.
Early or additional repayments can incur significant charges. If you repay the whole loan early and meet your other obligations, the chattel-mortgage terms provide an interest rebate, but ANZ can still charge its funding losses and prepayment costs. Ask ANZ for an estimate before making an early repayment.
Eligibility
- The programme is for small and medium businesses. The person applying must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, aged at least 18, with a current Australian Business Number (ABN). You must be a sole trader, partner or director of the business and its key financial decision maker.
- ANZ must approve the energy-efficient asset and your credit application. A vehicle must be used mostly for business; equipment must be used for business purposes only.
- Vehicle finance excludes exotic vehicles, including Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Hummer, Lamborghini, Maserati, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Lotus and Maybach models. A vehicle must be within the car, van, ute, truck, bus or trailer categories. Vehicles that do not meet Australian Design Regulations and lack an Australian-compliant plate are excluded.
- Insure equipment for its full value against fire, theft, accidents and any additional risks required by ANZ. Vehicles require comprehensive cover against fire, accident and theft, without conditions that could prevent a claim being paid. Both policies must name you as owner and ANZ as mortgagee, the lender with a secured claim. You pay premiums and provide proof if asked. ANZ may use insurance proceeds to repair or replace the asset or repay the loan, returning any remainder to you.
- Keep the asset in good condition, service it, comply with laws and keep it registered where registration is possible. Obtain ANZ’s written permission before selling, hiring out, leasing out or otherwise disposing of it, or changing its usual location.
- A default can lead to ANZ requiring immediate repayment and taking possession of secured property. You will usually have 30 days to remedy a default, but ANZ may act immediately in circumstances such as a material and immediate risk.

Book a phone appointment with an ANZ business banking specialist to confirm the asset’s energy-efficiency eligibility and apply for vehicle or equipment finance. You can also call 1800 351 663, Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm AEST. This route is available for new or existing business banking enquiries.
The specialist guides your application. Once ANZ has the required documents and approves the loan, it provides the loan documents. Sign and return them; ANZ then pays the vendor so you can collect the asset.
