Angel investment for early-stage climate technology
Angel equity investment for pre-seed, seed and Series A climate-technology companies located in the United States or Canada that can bring a product or validated service to market within 12 to 24 months.
Tato příležitost je nyní dostupná v angličtině.
Clean Energy Venture Group provides capital in return for an ownership stake in your company, rather than making a grant or loan. Its members also bring operating experience, industry connections, guidance and mentoring.
The investment is intended to help a promising climate-technology company move from research and development towards growth. The technology, product or service must have the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse-gas emissions associated with producing, distributing or using energy.
Eligibility
Clean Energy Venture Group focuses on companies located in the United States and Canada. Your company should be raising a pre-seed, seed or Series A round. The group says company valuations are typically below $10 million, but this is a typical valuation rather than a fixed maximum.
Your company should also:
- have a clear engineering route to a commercially ready product or validated service within 12 to 24 months after investment;
- be able to reach a trade sale or positive earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation with less than $50 million in total equity financing over its lifetime;
- address a market large enough to offer strong exit options and support an enduring competitive advantage;
- preferably have intellectual-property protection or another advantage that can defend its position and revenue for at least seven years; and
- have a management team with the experience and capabilities to carry out its business plan.
The group typically does not finance project developers or individual projects.
