Green renovation loan
An instalment loan for homeowners renovating their home, with at least half the borrowing used for energy-saving improvements.

You can finance solar panels, solar water heating, heat pumps, roof, wall or floor insulation, double or triple glazing, thermostatic valves and switches, replacement of a condensing boiler, and an energy audit. These are examples rather than an exhaustive list.
Borrowing starts at €2,500. The published table goes up to €75,000, with maximum repayment periods rising from 24 months for €2,500 to 180 months for €75,000. For amounts above €20,000 and up to €37,000, the maximum is 120 months.
You repay the loan with interest. Crelan advertises a lower rate than its renovation loan. Its example, valid from 17 September 2026 for terms up to 120 months, uses a fixed borrowing rate and annual percentage rate of 3.95%: €21,000 over 72 months means 72 payments of €327.40, or €23,572.80 in total.
Eligibility
- You must own the home.
- At least 50% of the loan amount must finance investments that save energy.
- Your income must be sufficient to repay the loan. Invoices or quotations must show the planned investments, and the lenders must accept your application.
- You may take out more than one green loan, provided you can repay them all.
