Residential attic insulation rebate

Douglas County PUDWashingtonaž 2,7 tis. USD

Cash back for Douglas County PUD residential customers adding attic insulation to their permanent, electrically heated home.

Tato příležitost je nyní dostupná v angličtině.

The rebate supports insulation upgrades in existing homes to reduce electric heating demand.

The base payment depends on the area insulated: $1,000 for up to 1,000 square feet, $1,750 for 1,001–2,000 square feet, or $2,500 for 2,001 square feet or more. Customers currently enrolled in a PUD assistance programme can receive an additional $200, bringing the largest eligible payment to $2,700. Payment cannot exceed your documented project costs, including when the bonus applies. Your own labour is not reimbursed.

Partial projects qualify using the area treated. Only one rebate is allowed per household/service address during the pilot, so a later claim for more work at the same address will not be accepted.

Eligibility

  • You must be a Douglas County PUD residential customer and install the insulation at your account’s service address in Washington. The home must be your permanent primary residence. Second homes and short-term rentals do not qualify.
  • The work must upgrade an existing home with a primary electric heat source. New construction is excluded.
  • Existing insulation must be R-30 or lower; the programme overview requires 10 inches or less. The finished insulation must reach R-49 or higher. R-value describes how well insulation resists heat flow. The provider describes R-30 as roughly 10 inches of fiberglass insulation and R-49 as typically 15–18 inches total, depending on the material.
  • Complete the project during 2026.
  • You may install it yourself or use a contractor. Any contractor must be licensed, bonded and insured in Washington State.
