Residential energy rebates
Rebates for Rock Rapids Municipal Utilities customers buying new ENERGY STAR certified appliances, fans and recessed LED lighting for their homes.

The appliance route covers these new ENERGY STAR certified products, with a separate rebate for each item:
- Room air conditioner: $75.
- Recessed LED can fixture or retrofit kit: $4 each.
- Air cleaner: $25.
- Portable dehumidifier: $25.
- Whole-home dehumidifier with ducting: $200.
- Dishwasher: $25.
- Ceiling fan: $25.
The rebate cannot exceed the equipment’s purchase cost. Claims are handled first come, first served, and the offer may change or be withdrawn at any time without notice.
Eligibility
- You must be a customer of Rock Rapids Municipal Utilities, and the new equipment must be installed inside a residence served by its electric utility. Exterior installations do not qualify.
- Buy the products within 25 miles of Rock Rapids.
- Each product must be ENERGY STAR certified. For recessed LED lighting, include the original packaging or a photograph of it showing the ENERGY STAR logo.
- The same equipment must not also be used to qualify for and receive an energy-savings payment from a wholesale electricity market.

- The 2026 rebate year runs January 1–December 31. Email claims within 180 days of purchase; mailed claims must be postmarked within 180 days. The year-end date is not a stated postmark deadline.[^c5][^c6][^c7][^c11]

Download the 2026 residential rebate form, complete and sign it, and include your utility account number, installation details, product brand and model, and a dated sales receipt.
Email the completed form and a copy of the receipt to rebate@brightenergysolutions.com within 180 days of purchase. You can instead mail them to Rock Rapids Municipal Utilities, 310 S. Third Ave., Rock Rapids, IA 51246-1610; mailed applications must be postmarked within 180 days of purchase.
The form covers the 2026 rebate year, January 1 through December 31. The claim deadline runs from your purchase date.
Incomplete information can delay or disqualify your rebate, and the utility may inspect the installed equipment. Keep a copy of your claim. If you have not received the rebate within eight weeks, call Rock Rapids Municipal Utilities at (712) 472-2511.
