Collective energy project planning grant
Up to €5,000 for groups in Zeist to organise and research shared energy-saving, renewable-energy or gas-free heating projects.
Tato příležitost je nyní dostupná v angličtině.
The grant pays for process and research work on collective projects that save energy, share or store energy, generate renewable energy, or heat buildings without natural gas. It does not pay for investment in the energy measures themselves. The limit is €5,000 per project; the published total budget for 2027 is €50,000, subject to municipal budget approval and possible annual changes.
Applications are assessed against the published criteria and handled in arrival order until the budget ceiling is reached.
Eligibility
You must be part of a group of at least five Zeist residents (an informal group or a homeowners’ association, VvE), organisations or entrepreneurs. The project must contribute to shared energy solutions in Zeist. The same initiative cannot apply repeatedly for the same subject.
The municipality can refuse applications that fail the criteria or arrive after the ceiling is reached. Its general rules also allow refusal when the activity does not sufficiently benefit Zeist, funding is not shown to be necessary, the aim is already substantially provided for elsewhere, or the application conflicts with municipal policy, eligibility rules or law. Activities aimed at spreading political, religious or philosophical principles can also be refused. Applicable EU state-aid and integrity rules may prevent an award or lead to withdrawal or recovery.

- Applications are accepted year-round until available funds are awarded. Published collective-project budget: €50,000 for 2027, subject to municipal budget approval. The current rules apply through 31 December 2027.
Apply through the official municipal page using DigiD as an individual or eHerkenning level 2+ as an organisation. Applications are accepted throughout the year until all available funds have been awarded; the published collective-project budget concerns 2027.
Include evidence that your project meets the criteria, a plan of action and a budget. Describe the activities, intended results and how you will fund them, including other grants or reimbursements requested for the same work. Enterprises must declare publicly funded support received or expected for the activities and provide a de-minimis declaration for small amounts of public aid. A legal person applying for the first time must supply its incorporation deed, statutes and the previous year’s annual report, accounts and balance sheet; the municipality may adjust the documents required.
For awards below €5,000, submit proof of delivery within 12 weeks after carrying out the activities. At exactly €5,000, the general rules allow the municipality to finalise the award directly or later without a separate finalisation application; it can request evidence of delivery and compliance. If the award is initially granted before being finalised, the general rules provide an immediate advance for the full grant.
Promptly report if the activities or grant obligations cannot be fulfilled. Notify the municipality in writing about decisions to end the funded activities or dissolve the organisation, relevant financial or organisational changes involving third parties, developments affecting compliance, and changes to the organisation’s legal form, directors or purpose in its statutes. Follow any reporting requirements in your award. Inadequate delivery or reporting can lead to a reduced award and recovery of some or all of the money.
