Energy Optimization appliance rebates
Residential electric members can receive rebates for eligible energy-saving home appliances installed in the Michigan service territory.
Tato příležitost je nyní dostupná v angličtině.
The residential appliance route helps with the purchase price of new energy-saving equipment. The 2026 rebates per item are:
- $25 for an ENERGY STAR clothes washer, standard electric dryer, freezer or noncompact refrigerator; limit two of each.
- $50 for an ENERGY STAR heat-pump dryer; limit two. Vented and ventless models qualify, but a dryer without a heat pump does not qualify for this rate.
- $25 for an ENERGY STAR portable room dehumidifier or room air purifier; limit four of each.
- $30 for an ENERGY STAR room air conditioner; limit four per installation address.
- $10 for an induction range, stove or cooktop with at least three burners; limit two. Portable induction cooktops and gas ranges or stovetops do not qualify.
Your rebate cannot exceed 75% of project cost. Funds are limited and allocated first come, first served; payment depends on funds remaining when the application is approved. Incentive levels can change or the programme can be cancelled without advance notice. Rebates of $100 or less are credited to your electric bill. Allow four to six weeks for processing; Ontonagon REA will contact you if it needs more information.
Eligibility
- You must be an Ontonagon REA residential member with an active electric account. Commercial properties are excluded, and equipment must be installed in its Michigan service territory.
- Equipment must be new and working, rather than used or refurbished. Check ENERGY STAR models using the programme's product-finder link. Only one incentive is available per eligible measure or unit, subject to the stated item limits.
- The published eligible purchase or installation period runs from January 1 to December 31, 2026. You must have purchased and installed the claimed equipment.
- You must have the right to install the equipment and obtain any necessary landlord consent. The work must meet applicable codes and legal requirements, and you or your contractor must obtain required permits.
Ontonagon REA may verify purchases and inspect the installation. False information can result in recovery of the full rebate plus interest. You bear any tax liability from the rebate.
The terms release Ontonagon REA and its related parties from claims connected with the application, incentives or work, and require you to defend and compensate them against third-party claims arising from these matters. They do not guarantee equipment performance or energy savings. The programme may store member details and energy savings confidentially and use aggregated information in regulatory reports.
