Energy efficiency rebates

Eastern Iowa Light and Power CooperativeIowa

Rebates for cooperative members installing qualifying ENERGY STAR-certified residential split-system heat pumps at utility-served properties.

Tato příležitost je nyní dostupná v angličtině.

This entry covers the standard certified residential split-system air-source heat-pump rebate without an integrated gas-backup furnace. Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative pays $300 per cooling ton. Use the cooling-capacity rating in the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) directory: divide its British thermal units per hour (Btuh) by 12,000 and round to the nearest half ton. Your installer can provide this rating. The cooperative verifies eligibility and the final award.

If you have wind, solar or other distributed generation, the rebate payment is prorated to the percentage of power supplied by the utility. Rebates below $500 are credited to your electricity account unless you request otherwise; amounts above $500 are paid by mailed check.

The cooperative does not warrant the equipment or guarantee energy or cost savings. Its programme liability is limited to the qualifying rebate, and excludes consequential or incidental damages and tax liability from participation.

Eligibility

  • You must be a cooperative member who purchases and installs the equipment at a location served by the utility in eastern Iowa. Its territory covers rural portions of 12 counties, from Sabula to Burlington and west to Iowa City. This entry covers residential split-system equipment for new construction, added capacity or replacement.
  • The heat pump must be ENERGY STAR certified through the AHRI directory, meet current federal minimum efficiency requirements and have a capacity of at least 0.5 ton. ENERGY STAR identifies qualifying efficient equipment, but an equipment label alone does not guarantee this rebate; the cooperative checks the model and its ratings.
  • For a split system, install both a new outdoor condenser and a new indoor A-coil, which transfers heat inside the home. You must meet the ENERGY STAR criteria in effect when the equipment is installed.
  • The claim form lists minimum split-system ratings of 15.2 SEER2, 11.0 EER2 and 7.8 HSPF2. These measure seasonal cooling efficiency, cooling efficiency and seasonal heating performance respectively. Supply the equipment ratings and AHRI reference number for verification.

How to apply

  • Apply within six months of the invoice purchase date. Claims received after January 31 are subject to the current-year programme offer.[^c12]
  • The 2026 offer covers products purchased or services rendered on or after January 1, 2026. The cooperative may change or terminate the programme without notice; verify the current offer with the utility.[^c2][^c12]

Check with Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative that the programme and incentive remain in effect before relying on the rebate: the utility may change incentive levels or terminate the programme without notice. The 2026 offer covers products purchased or services rendered on or after January 1, 2026.

After installation, apply through the cooperative’s online Residential Air Source Heat Pump Rebate Application, or complete and sign its printable form. Submit your claim within six months of the purchase date shown on your invoice. Claims received after January 31 are subject to the current-year offer, and past equipment eligibility does not guarantee eligibility under that offer.

Provide complete member, location, installation and equipment details, including the AHRI reference and outdoor/indoor model and serial numbers. Attach a sales invoice showing brand, model, serial number and purchase date. The cooperative may request manufacturer performance sheets, verify the sale and reasonably access the premises to inspect existing and installed equipment. Missing or incorrect information can delay payment.

Sign or accept the member declaration confirming installation at the stated utility-served location, truthful information and compliance with programme requirements. The cooperative may inspect and verify information before paying, and may deny or adjust a noncompliant claim. Heat Plus is an optional separate rate; this entry covers the base equipment rebate.
