Energy-efficiency equipment rebates
North Itasca Electric members in Minnesota can claim rebates for efficient appliances, heat pumps, thermostats and LED lighting installed at their cooperative-account address.

North Itasca Electric pays equipment rebates as a credit on your electricity account or by check. The amounts depend on the equipment you install:
- ENERGY STAR dehumidifier: $10. ENERGY STAR electric clothes dryer: $5.
- ENERGY STAR heat-pump water heater: $500 for a 50- or 80-gallon unit. ENERGY STAR WiFi thermostat: $25.
- Ground-source heat pump: $400 per ton of heating capacity, up to five tons ($2,000).
- ENERGY STAR ductless air-source heat pump: $150 if your primary heating uses delivered fossil fuels, or $250 if it is electric.
- ENERGY STAR LED home bulbs: $2 each, up to ten bulbs, with the rebate limited to 50% of the total cost. ENERGY STAR LED holiday-light strings: $1 per string, also limited to 50% of the total cost.
Eligibility
You must have a valid North Itasca Electric cooperative account and install the qualifying equipment at the address listed on your claim. The cooperative serves members in Beltrami, Itasca and Koochiching counties, Minnesota.
The appliance, water-heater and thermostat forms require packaging showing the ENERGY STAR logo. For a ductless heat pump, provide proof of its ENERGY STAR rating and identify whether your primary heating uses delivered fossil fuels or electricity. Ground-source heat-pump claims require both sales and installation receipts. The lighting form requires packaging showing the ENERGY STAR logo and bulb quantity.

- Claims require a valid North Itasca Electric account, qualifying installed equipment, a signed equipment-specific claim and the required receipts and product proof.
Use the relevant 2026 claim form linked from North Itasca Electric’s rebate page. Complete your member and account details, the equipment manufacturer and model, and the equipment-specific fields. Include a copy of your original sales receipt and the required product proof; ground-source heat pumps also need the installation receipt. Sign the certification that the qualifying equipment is installed at the stated valid cooperative-account address.
Choose an account credit or check on the form. It also contains a cooperative-representative signature and date section for approval.
