The grant supported new LED lighting in existing buildings used for business, including lighting controls such as motion-activated or daylight-dependent switching. Eligible costs included the LED systems, planning and installation.

Support was €500 per kW of installed LED connection capacity, with a possible additional €100 per kW when lighting controls were installed at the same time. The non-repayable grant was limited to 30% of investment costs. Regional grants could be combined with this support.

Eligibility

  • Businesses, other organizations carrying out business activities, associations and religious institutions could apply for projects in Austria.

The lighting had to meet minimum efficiency of 100 lumens per watt, colour-rendering index (CRI) 80 and rated lifetime of 50,000 hours under the L80 B50 specification. It also had to bear CE marking.
  • Plug-in replacement bulbs, new buildings, advertising lighting, indirect lighting, outdoor lighting, LED strips without a profile and cover, replacement or modernization of existing LED systems, and used LED luminaires were excluded.
  • The grant was de-minimis aid: other aid received under this category had to be declared in the application. Applicable public procurement rules had to be followed.
