Green Reno Loan
Unsecured borrowing for homeowners in Australia to install solar, insulation and other energy-saving upgrades, including installation costs.

Finance solar panels, solar or heat-pump hot water, insulation, battery packs, a home electric-vehicle charger or double-glazed windows, including installation costs. The bank may consider other energy-efficient purchases at its discretion.
Borrow AUD 3,000–60,000 for one to ten years, without a deposit or security. The published variable interest rate starts at 6.74% a year and can change. You repay the borrowed money with interest through weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments. There are no establishment or monthly loan maintenance fees. You can make unlimited extra repayments and repay the loan early without an early repayment fee.
If you fall behind, the fee schedule charges AUD 40 when a second arrears letter is sent and AUD 70 for a default notice before enforcement. Default interest adds two percentage points to the annual rate under your loan contract.
Eligibility
- You must own the home being improved, be at least 18 and live in Australia. For the online route, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- The loan is for bank members. New applicants can open membership as part of their application; an existing mortgage with another lender does not stop you applying.
- The bank checks your financial situation and whether you can meet repayments, fees and charges. You must satisfy its lending policy and identity and anti-money-laundering checks.
- To use the online application, you must also be in paid employment and have never been bankrupt.

The loan offer and contract set out the terms you accept. For members, the bank says the money is paid into your Queensland Country bank account on the day you accept the offer.
