Peak Smart Home rebates
Homeowners and renters on the Yukon main electricity grid can recover up to 75% of eligible smart thermostat and hot water controller costs by joining Peak Smart Home.
Denne finansieringsmulighed er i øjeblikket beskrevet på engelsk.
The Government of Yukon reimburses eligible device purchase and installation costs after you enrol in Peak Smart Home. You can receive up to CAD 750 per home for thermostats and another CAD 750 for hot water tank controllers: CAD 1,500 combined. Multiple claims are allowed until each category’s cap is reached. Eligible costs for individuals include taxes.
Eligible devices include listed Mysa baseboard thermostats and Sinopé thermostats and Calypso hot water controllers. The listed water detection cable is eligible with the hot water controller rebate. Zigbee devices require one Sinopé GT130 gateway per home; that accessory is also eligible. Check the official device list before buying.
During Peak Smart events, Yukon Energy remotely adjusts participating devices to shift electricity use away from peak periods. You can manually override adjustments, but frequent overrides can lead to termination. You can withdraw by notifying Yukon Energy in writing or by phone; after withdrawal or termination you lose eligibility for future incentives and must restore your preferred device settings yourself.
If you sell, lease, dispose of or remove the qualifying equipment or building from Yukon within 12 months of receiving the rebate, the government may require full repayment. If Better Buildings financing covers the same work, the rebate goes towards that loan’s remaining principal, less the portion needed to offset your out-of-pocket expenditure.
Eligibility
This entry covers individuals applying for the enrolled-device rebate.
- You must be at least 19 and a lawful tenant or registered owner living in the participating Yukon home, with an active residential electricity account with Yukon Energy or ATCO Electric Yukon.
- Your home must be connected to the Yukon main grid. Old Crow, Burwash Landing, Destruction Bay, Beaver Creek and Watson Lake are excluded. In an apartment or condo, you must individually control your own heat and/or hot water.
- Install an eligible device before enrolling. It must be the primary controller of the connected electric load. You need consistent internet access, such as DSL, fibre or satellite; cellular internet, including a phone hotspot, is excluded.
- Devices must have been purchased after 4 December 2024. Only invoices and receipts dated after that date qualify. Agree to both the government rebate terms and Peak Smart Home participation terms.
Participation includes consent to device adjustments and programme data use. If requested, ATCO may share customer electricity consumption, participating device data and account status with Yukon Energy. You are responsible for applicable incentive taxes and for covering third-party claims, costs and legal fees arising from your participation or breach of the terms.

The enrolment name must match the rebate applicant’s name; purchase-payment proof must show the purchaser’s name and a zero balance. Sinopé screenshots must show the postal code.
Apply within one year after your project or purchase ends. The Energy Branch determines that date, generally using the later of final payment or final inspection.
