Green forestry loan
Loans for companies financing forest land or forestry and restoration measures in Sweden.

For a mixed property, the loan cannot be larger than the value of the forest land.
Interest is set individually, and a green loan may offer more favourable terms.
Eligibility
- The loan must be used only for forest land, measures that support forestry, or restoration of forest land in Sweden.
- Your company’s project must meet Handelsbanken’s detailed technical criteria for environmental and climate considerations.
- If the forest holdings exceed 1,500 hectares, the forest must be certified under FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). These are forest-certification standards.

Contact your Handelsbanken branch and describe the forestry investment. The bank assesses the project against its green-loan criteria before carrying out its usual credit assessment. You may need to report annually on how the project meets the loan conditions.
