Regional rainwater tank rebate

Water CorporationAustralien

Property owners in eligible Western Australian towns can receive a water-account credit towards a new rainwater tank or plumbing an existing tank into their toilet or washing machine.

Denne finansieringsmulighed er i øjeblikket beskrevet på engelsk.

Capture rainwater for indoor use and reduce demand on the scheme drinking-water supply. This entry covers two routes: a new tank where you do not already have one, or connecting an existing tank that has not previously been plumbed in.

For a new tank, the rebate is the lower of AUD 1,000 and the tank-and-plumbing cost. For an existing tank bought before the offer began, it is the lower of AUD 500 and the plumbing cost. Approved support is credited to your Water Corporation account after validation; exceptional alternative payment arrangements can be requested by email.

Eligibility

  • You must be the registered owner of the land. Residential and non-residential premises qualify, and the property must be connected to Water Corporation scheme water in one of the towns on the official eligible-locations list in the South West or Great Southern. The owner applies, using the Water Corporation account number that matches the property address.
  • The tank must be connected to a completed, permanent building. It must hold at least 2,000 litres, have adequate mosquito controls and comply with AS/NZS 3500.1:2025 — Plumbing and Drainage.
  • For the routes covered here, use a plumber with a current Western Australian Plumbers Licensing Board licence to make a permanent connection to the toilet and/or washing machine. Certify that the installation meets relevant standards and government requirements and is fully operational.
  • You cannot claim for the same premises if you participated in a previous Water Corporation rainwater tank rebate programme. Buy a new tank and complete its plumbing during the rebate period; for a previously purchased existing tank, complete the eligible plumbing during that period. Claim only after the work is complete.
  • The rebate is non-transferable and valid only during the rebate period. Water Corporation makes the final eligibility and amount decisions at its absolute discretion and may audit the work.
