Climate and transition fund
Grants for businesses, clubs and organisations to cut emissions, reduce waste and support a low-emission transition in Kristiansand.
Denne finansieringsmulighed er i øjeblikket beskrevet på engelsk.
You can fund practical climate measures and work that builds knowledge and changes behaviour. Examples include reducing food waste and packaging, reuse, research and pilot projects that reduce emissions, energy-saving measures, renewable energy with a climate benefit, ground-source heat pumps and charging infrastructure for electric vans and heavier vehicles.
The grant covers up to 40% of total costs, with awards from NOK 15,000 to NOK 500,000. The jury considers how well the project meets the fund’s purpose and gives weight to its expected emissions reductions. The amount depends on available funds and total applications; the maximum may be reduced if demand exceeds the budget.
Projects meeting several priorities receive priority: credible emissions reductions, the quality and scale of the measure, documented large reduction potential, alignment with municipal climate goals and strategies, and inclusion in the climate and environment strategy’s action plan.
Eligibility
- Businesses, clubs and other organisations can apply for measures within Kristiansand’s municipal boundary. Clubs, associations and organisations must be registered in Brønnøysundregistrene, Norway’s national business and organisation registers.
- Individuals, housing cooperatives and condominium associations cannot apply. Municipal, county and central-government bodies are excluded. Organisations with a municipal cooperation agreement and an annual operating grant from a dedicated municipal budget line generally cannot apply for extra support from this fund.
- Do not start the project before support is awarded. Already started or completed measures, ordinary operations or maintenance, pay for your own work, measures solely aimed at profit, legally required measures and measures covered by other relevant public grant schemes are excluded. Energy production must directly reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.
- You must obtain any required public or private permissions before starting and take responsibility for participants’ safety. The grant must not subsidise other activities or services sold on a market. Recipients are expected to promote equality, diversity and inclusion, oppose discrimination and work in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
