Green Start unsecured energy efficiency loan
Borrow up to $20,000 for home energy upgrades, including heat pumps, insulation and solar panels, with an unsecured loan for eligible credit union members.

Use the loan for insulation, heat-pump heating and cooling, fuel-oil furnace replacement, solar panels, energy-efficient windows, appliance upgrades or electric vehicle charging. This entry covers the unsecured Green Start option.
Pacific NW Federal Credit Union lends you money for the upgrades, which you repay with interest over a term of up to 96 months. The rate is its standard unsecured rate minus 0.50 percentage points, with a further 0.50 percentage-point discount if you have an Energy Audit. Your approved rate depends on your credit qualifications and repayment period; rates can change. The automatic-payment discount does not apply to unsecured loans.
Eligibility
You must be a Pacific NW Federal Credit Union member, and the loan is subject to credit approval.
You can join if you live, work or regularly conduct business, volunteer, worship or attend school in Clackamas, Columbia, Hood River, Multnomah, Washington or Yamhill County in Oregon, or Clark or Skamania County in Washington. Membership is also available to immediate family or household members of current members, spouses of people who died while within the credit union’s field of membership, and credit union employees.
Open and maintain a $5 savings balance to establish membership. You can remain a member after moving, changing jobs or retiring if you keep the account active.
Under the membership agreement, your ordinary credit union deposits secure your obligations unless prohibited by law; this pledge excludes obligations secured by your principal residence. If you default, the credit union may use account funds to pay what you owe or freeze funds to protect its rights. The pledge and statutory lien do not apply to Individual Retirement Accounts or accounts that would lose special federal tax treatment if used as security.
