Residential energy-efficiency rebates
Rebates help residential electricity members buy efficient appliances and ground-source heat pumps, or recycle an old refrigerator or freezer.

You can claim $25 for a new ENERGY STAR electric clothes washer or dryer, dehumidifier or dishwasher, and $500 for an ENERGY STAR heat-pump water heater. An Energy Wise Wi-Fi smart thermostat must also qualify as ENERGY STAR to receive the $25 rebate.
For a new ENERGY STAR refrigerator or freezer, the rebate is $75 when you recycle the old unit and supply a recycling receipt, or $25 without recycling. Recycling an old refrigerator or freezer without buying a replacement earns $50; you must supply the recycling receipt.
A residential ground-source heat pump earns $400 per ton of verified heat-pump capacity. These systems use the ground as a heat source. A licensed HVAC contractor must install it, and Lake Country Power must verify its capacity.
Appliance and refrigerator/freezer rebates are credited to your electricity account. Ground-source heat-pump rebates below $1,000 are credited to the account; its form lets you choose a power-bill credit or a check for a rebate over $1,000. Allow 6–8 weeks for processing.
Eligibility
You must have a valid Lake Country Power cooperative account. Qualifying equipment must be installed at the address supplied with electricity by the cooperative.
New appliances must be purchased on or after 1 February 2026 and appear on the ENERGY STAR qualifying list on the purchase date. ENERGY STAR is the energy-efficiency certification you need to prove using the installer or manufacturer's documentation. Delisted or mislabeled products do not qualify. The refrigerator/freezer recycling-only claim does not require a new purchase.
Ground-source heat pumps must be purchased on or after 1 February 2026 and professionally installed by a licensed HVAC contractor. You must allow Lake Country Power access to verify the heat pump's tonnage. A service technician visit is arranged at a mutually agreed time, and the rebate schedule requires technician confirmation with a picture of the nameplate.

Recycling-only refrigerator/freezer claims require a recycling receipt and no new purchase. Rebates are subject to change or cancellation without notice.
Use the current category form from Lake Country Power's rebate page. For purchased equipment, submit the completed signed claim within 90 days of purchase. Provide a copy of the original sales receipt, the manufacturer and model details, and proof of ENERGY STAR certification for appliance and refrigerator/freezer purchases. Include a recycling receipt when claiming refrigerator/freezer recycling support.
For a ground-source heat pump, include the original sales and installation receipt showing its model number. Complete the contractor's company, address and phone information and obtain the contractor's signature. Sign the certification that the qualifying equipment is installed at your valid cooperative-account address, and arrange the technician verification.
