Green-roof subsidy

KoksijdeFlandernbis zu 1250 EUR

Private individuals can receive up to €1,250 per address to install an extensive green roof on a mainly privately used building in Koksijde.

Diese Finanzierungsmöglichkeit ist derzeit auf Englisch beschrieben.

An extensive green roof uses low-growing plants such as sedum, moss, grass or herbs. It must have a growing-medium layer (substrate) and a vegetation layer, plus a drainage layer unless the roof slopes. Green roofs slow rainwater runoff.

The municipality reimburses actual installation costs, limited to €40 per m² including VAT and €1,250 per address. Funding depends on the approved annual budget, with priority by application date. Each roof can receive this subsidy only once.

Eligibility

  • Apply as a private individual for a building in Koksijde whose used floor area is mainly for private use. VAT must not be deducted. If you do not own the building, its owner must co-sign your application.
  • The building must be legally permitted, and the works must comply with applicable law. Apply for any required planning permission in time. Roofs over underground garages below ground level and garden-like roof gardens are excluded.
  • The municipality instructs applicants to have roof insulation with an Rd value of at least 4.5 m²K/W: the thermal resistance of the insulation material. Its practical guidance requires a check by a building professional and advises asking a structural engineer or architect to assess the roof’s load capacity.
  • Keep the green roof in good condition for at least ten years and repair failed planting or works. Unrepaired failures lead to recovery of the subsidy.
  • Allow municipal inspections and provide requested information. Failure to answer a written request appropriately is treated as withdrawal. If conditions are not met before payment, you will be notified and may make corrections to qualify. Noncompliance with the rules or permit leads to withheld payment or recovery. False declarations or later failure to meet the conditions require full repayment plus statutory interest; preventing inspection or breaching contractual clauses can lead to payment being withheld.
