Climate and sustainability project grant
Grants up to DKK 50,000 for residents and noncommercial organisations in Gentofte to run local activities that encourage climate-friendly, sustainable everyday life.

Funding can cover workshops, talks, information materials and trials that inspire others and benefit many people. Examples include saving energy, sustainable transport, reuse, sustainable consumption, sustainability education and urban biodiversity.
The fund has two tiers: up to DKK 20,000 for smaller projects, with DKK 100,000 allocated, and up to DKK 50,000 under the larger tier, with DKK 150,000 allocated. The total 2026 budget is DKK 250,000.
Eligibility
- You must be a resident, association, organisation or self-governing institution with an address in Gentofte Municipality. Companies, commercial actors and public institutions cannot apply.
- Your project must be locally rooted in Gentofte. It must promote a theme in Klimaplan 2050, be of general interest and/or open to the public, and inspire more climate-friendly, sustainable daily life.
- The fund excludes daily operations such as premises rent, employee pay, completed initiatives, activities without a clear climate or sustainability focus, commercial projects, private events, travel and study stays.
- For an activity funded before, explain the new effects and added value of repeating it and how it can become established with less dependence on the fund. The same or substantially similar activity can receive support at most three times.

Applications are assessed continuously. If you request less than DKK 5,000, describe your idea in a few lines and email Pia Staalgaard at psta@gentofte.dk. For requests above DKK 5,000, use the municipality’s application form; no login identification is required, and you accept its terms when continuing.
Explain what you will spend the requested amount on, for example materials or a speaker. The municipality says it starts assessing the form application on receipt and responds within 14 days.
