Heat-pump water-heater rebate
ECEC members can receive $500 per qualifying integrated heat-pump water heater installed on cooperative lines, with required load-management enrollment.
Diese Finanzierungsmöglichkeit ist derzeit auf Englisch beschrieben.
The rebate supports a new integrated, all-in-one heat-pump water heater with a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) of at least 2.20. UEF is the equipment’s energy-efficiency rating; use the model’s rating to check this threshold. The rebate is $500 per qualifying unit and cannot exceed its equipment cost. Eau Claire Energy Cooperative approves the claim and mails a check.
Load management allows the cooperative to switch off your water heater by radio signal during peak electricity demand. The published limit is a maximum of four or six hours in a consecutive ten-hour period, and the programme runs all year. The control hardware and its installation by a cooperative representative are free to members.
Eligibility
- You must be an Eau Claire Energy Cooperative member, and the new equipment must be installed on cooperative lines. The form covers residential, farm, commercial, industrial and institution/government applications.
- The heat-pump water heater must be an integrated, all-in-one unit with UEF of at least 2.20.
- You must sign up for Water Heater Load Management. The electric water heater must be your sole source of hot water.
- If the property owner differs from the member, the owner must sign the load-management application.

Complete the load-management enrollment form with your member name, service address, account number and telephone number, plus the water heater’s element wattage, gallon capacity and location. Obtain the property owner’s signature if required. Submit it to Eau Claire Energy Cooperative, PO Box 368, Fall Creek, WI 54742; call 715-832-1603 for the cooperative’s free control-equipment installation.
Complete and sign the 2026 water-heater incentive form, including all member information. Attach a receipt or invoice identifying the model and equipment cost, and evidence of installation. The completed form attests that the equipment is installed at the service location; a paid equipment-purchase invoice is generally sufficient, but the cooperative can request further installation evidence. Email the claim to incentives@ecec.com or mail it to the same PO Box.
Submit the required documentation within three months of installation; the date when cooperative load-control equipment is installed may be used as the installation date. The 2026 incentives remain in place through December 31, 2026, subject to limited funds. Submit promptly: the programme can change or be cancelled without notice.
