Residential equipment replacement rebate

SaskEnergyKanada

Rebates of CAD 325 to CAD 1,000 per qualifying unit help SaskEnergy residential customers replace natural-gas heating equipment in Saskatchewan homes.

Diese Finanzierungsmöglichkeit ist derzeit auf Englisch beschrieben.

Replace older natural-gas heating equipment with a new model on SaskEnergy’s eligible-equipment list to reduce energy use and greenhouse-gas emissions.

The rebates are:

  • CAD 325 for each furnace with annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) of at least 97%.
  • CAD 750 for each boiler plant up to 300 MBH, with AFUE of at least 95%.
  • CAD 800 for each combi boiler with AFUE of at least 95%.
  • CAD 1,000 for each tankless water heater with a uniform energy factor (UEF) of at least 0.87.
  • CAD 1,000 for each condensing water heater with UEF of at least 0.80.

AFUE and UEF are the programme’s equipment-efficiency measures. Ask your contractor to check your exact model against the eligible-equipment list; the efficiency threshold alone does not qualify a model. For boiler plants, ask the contractor to check the 300 MBH capacity limit.

SaskEnergy uses the rebate schedule in effect when it receives your complete application. Funding is limited, and it can limit the number or amount of rebates for an applicant or building.

You transfer any associated greenhouse-gas or carbon credits to SaskEnergy. It may apply your rebate towards amounts you owe it. It can recover a paid rebate as a debt if you breach the terms, become ineligible or receive a payment in error, including because of inaccurate information. Tell SaskEnergy about material changes to your application.

You consent to inspection and billing-data checks. SaskEnergy or its authorized third party can retrieve account and bill data for five years before and five years after participation to evaluate energy savings. You are responsible for liabilities and claims arising from programme participation and must cover the resulting costs for SaskEnergy, its subsidiaries and their employees, directors, agents, contractors, subcontractors and representatives. Applicants registered for goods and services tax (GST) must pay the GST included in the rebate to the Receiver General of Canada.

Eligibility

  • You must pay the invoice, be the registered homeowner, landlord or a representative of a rental company, and be a SaskEnergy residential customer.
  • The property must be residential and in Saskatchewan. Separately metered row houses and duplex units qualify. The natural-gas equipment must form part of the primary space or water heating system.
  • This is for replacements, not new construction. The old equipment must no longer be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty. Garages, including attached residential garages, are excluded.
  • The replacement must be new, appear on an eligible-equipment list, and be installed to the manufacturer’s specifications and applicable laws and standards. Used or rebuilt equipment is excluded.
  • A gas contractor with a valid Domestic, General or Employer licence from the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK) must install it. Self-installations are excluded.
  • Auction purchases can qualify if you submit the auction purchase invoice; equipment covered by an insurance claim can also qualify. Gifts, contest awards and prizes do not qualify.
