Water heater rebate
Rebates of $250 for natural gas water heaters or $300 for heat pump water heaters for eligible residential utility customers in Springfield, Missouri.
Diese Finanzierungsmöglichkeit ist derzeit auf Englisch beschrieben.
City Utilities of Springfield supports energy-efficient water heating in single-family homes, multi-family properties and residential new construction. Natural gas storage and tankless units receive $250; heat pump units receive $300. The rebate cannot exceed the water heater’s purchase price. If you install it yourself, additional installation materials do not qualify.
Rebates are awarded in application order until funds run out. City Utilities can change or discontinue the programme without notice. City Utilities does not guarantee the equipment’s performance or energy savings.
Eligibility
- You must be the named customer on an active City Utilities residential account with no overdue balance. Natural gas water heaters require CU natural gas service; heat pump water heaters require CU electric service. Multi-family customers and residential new construction can also qualify.
- Purchase and install a new water heater carrying the ENERGY STAR certification label, which is the programme’s required equipment qualification. The installed unit must be 80 gallons or less. Both purchase and installation must be on or after 1 October 2026.
- Leased or refurbished equipment, propane, solar and standard electric water heaters are excluded. You cannot use the rebate to replace a water heater installed with a CU rebate within the past ten years.
- Single-family homes and new construction may receive rebates for two water heaters per home. New construction developments and multi-family properties are limited to six units per programme year, with no more than two per service address.
- Installation must meet City of Springfield and Greene County codes and regulations. Contractors must properly dispose of or recycle project waste. City Utilities may inspect the installation; if the qualifying equipment is absent, it will charge the rebate back to your utility account.
