Heat-pump installation rebates
Cash rebates help residential cooperative members install efficient ducted heat pumps connected to controlled heating and cooling.
Diese Finanzierungsmöglichkeit ist derzeit auf Englisch beschrieben.
Meeker Energy pays a $750 rebate for a ducted or hybrid air-source heat pump of up to five tons that meets the stated efficiency ratings. Qualified installation can add $40 per ton, making the retained route worth up to $950 for a five-ton system. The heat pump provides cooling and supplemental heating.
The equipment must use a separate energy-management meter. The published electricity rate is $0.057/kWh from September to May and $0.062/kWh from June to August. In return, Meeker Energy can control or interrupt the connected heating and cooling loads. Rebate funds are limited and allocated in order of application.
Eligibility
You must be a Meeker Energy member receiving residential electricity service and own the installation location. Install the equipment within the cooperative’s service territory.
- Use a new ducted or hybrid system of no more than five tons, rated at least 14.3 SEER2 for seasonal cooling efficiency and 7.5 HSPF2 for seasonal heating efficiency. The outdoor unit and indoor coil must be a matched manufacturer-designed system listed by the Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). Provide its reference number and an AHRI certificate printed within two weeks of installation.
- Buy and install through an approved, registered Quality Installation (QI) contractor. The contractor must keep a completed heating/cooling load calculation, test airflow and refrigerant charge, and seal exposed mechanical-room ductwork. The tests verify appropriate sizing and operation; they must meet the manufacturer’s outdoor-temperature requirements. Commercial, reconditioned, ductless and ground-source systems do not qualify for this QI route.
- The system must be compatible with Meeker Energy’s control equipment, connected to both Dual Fuel heating and Cycled Air Conditioning control, and checked and approved by the cooperative. Provide propane, natural gas or electric thermal storage backup heat capable of heating the entire served area during interruptions; wood heat is not qualified backup. Check compatibility with any existing electric plenum heater, which heats air through the duct system.
- The cooperative supplies and maintains its control equipment, which remains its property. You are responsible for installation to cooperative specifications and the National Electric Code, necessary wiring changes and maintenance. Controls must be outside without an enclosure for access; the cooperative seals wiring enclosures and may inspect the equipment and wiring.
- Remain enrolled for at least five years. If you opt out sooner, the rebate or rebate credit is prorated from enrollment and billed to you. You cannot rejoin for a full year after opting out.
Rebates are for new energy-management installations or additional connected loads on an existing energy-management system. Replacement HVAC equipment previously installed and enrolled in energy management for more than ten years qualifies for the full current rebate. When a furnace’s variable-speed fan is used to raise the heat pump’s heating-efficiency rating, the furnace must have been installed within one year before purchase of the central air equipment.
You must comply with applicable installation codes and regulations. Meeker Energy does not accept liability for equipment quality, installation, contractor work or estimated savings, nor claims from operation or prolonged control of the energy-management system.

- Funds are limited and allocated first come, first served; check availability before purchase.[^c1][^c6]

Call Meeker Energy Energy Services on 320-693-3231 before installing energy-management equipment and check qualifying amounts and available funds. Complete the energy-management agreement through the linked online form, or print, sign and mail or deliver it to Meeker Energy, 1725 US HWY 12 E, STE 100, Litchfield, MN 55355.
Have a licensed electrician install the meter and control equipment within 60 days of delivery or pickup. Then contact Meeker Energy for a checkout. Without a checkout, electricity through that meter is billed at the regular service rate.
Submit the completed member rebate form, signed contractor QI form, original sales-receipt copy and AHRI certificate within 90 days of purchase. The equipment invoice must match the application exactly, including model information; an application denied for ineligible equipment cannot be resubmitted with changed model numbers. You are responsible for ensuring the cooperative receives the materials.
The contractor must finish airflow and refrigerant testing before the application is submitted. If conditions prevent proper testing, the QI form allows testing and application submission by July 31 of the following year. This is a testing-specific exception; arrange the member-form submission within its 90-day purchase deadline. The programme can change or be cancelled without notice.
