Audit-recommended energy improvements
Cooperative members can receive up to $500 for energy-saving improvements to a home or farm recommended by an approved comprehensive audit.

The incentive reimburses the cost of eligible improvements, including materials and professional labour, up to $500. The audit itself is not an eligible cost.
The written audit must show that the recommended work will reduce electricity or delivered fossil-fuel use, or improve its efficiency. The covered delivered fuels are liquefied petroleum gas (LP) and oil.
Eligibility
- The home or farm must be connected to Vernon Electric Cooperative’s lines.
- The cooperative or a cooperative-approved partner must arrange the audit. It must be comprehensive and include a written report recommending the improvements and showing their energy-saving effect.
- Complete the improvements within 24 months of the audit date.
- Each member account can receive this incentive only once every five years, regardless of the number of audits or improvements.
- If an improvement qualifies for another incentive, it receives that incentive instead. For example, an audit-recommended ENERGY STAR refrigerator falls under the Appliance incentive.
Additional eligibility criteria may apply, and the programme can change or be cancelled without notice. Contact the cooperative for details before arranging the work.

Contact Vernon Electric Cooperative to confirm the applicable conditions and arrange an eligible audit through the cooperative or an approved partner. Pay for the audit, then complete the qualifying recommendations.
Fill in and sign the 2026 incentive form. Submit it with receipts or invoices for each improvement, circling the purchase prices and purchase or installation dates, a copy of the audit documentation, and evidence that the improvements are complete showing the completion date. Send the documents within three months after completion to info@vernonelectric.org or Vernon Electric Cooperative, 110 Saugstad Rd, Westby, WI 54667.
The 2026 incentive is in place through 31 December, subject to limited funds. Submit the required documents promptly.
