Lowercarbon provides cash in exchange for equity, so it becomes a part-owner of the company rather than making a grant or loan.
Its investment focus has three parts: technologies that reduce new greenhouse-gas emissions, remove carbon already in the atmosphere, or cool the planet to reduce near-term climate harm.
Eligibility
Your company should fit these points:
- You are developing technology intended to address climate change.
- Lowercarbon supports climate-tech founders at the earliest stages, including people who are just getting started.
- The company must be commercially driven: Lowercarbon describes its mandate as backing companies that make money while reducing emissions, removing carbon or buying time.
For emissions-reduction companies, the published focus includes energy, transport, industrial materials and agriculture.
