Afkoblingsordningen

Danish Energy AgencyΔανία

A gas-disconnection fee waiver for Danish households, landlords and housing associations replacing a gas boiler with another heating source.

Αυτή η ευκαιρία είναι προς το παρόν διαθέσιμη στα Αγγλικά.

Evida administers Afkoblingsordningen for the Danish Energy Agency. You avoid the normal gas-disconnection bill; you receive no cash payment.

The work covers disconnection of the gas supply and removal of the meter and its cabinet, except a cabinet built into a wall. Removing the boiler and indoor gas installation is work for your installer. Evida does not restore your property or garden, and the buried service pipe normally stays in place. If the service pipe supplies, or previously supplied, other meter points outside your supply site, the distribution terms require a separate shared-line disconnection fee.

The termination and any fee waiver follow the address if you sell the property; the buyer takes them over.

Until Evida physically disconnects the pipe, it still contains gas on your property. Take this into account before digging or other work near it.

Eligibility

  • The scheme covers private households, landlords of rental housing, and housing associations, including cooperative housing associations. The property owner must terminate the supply; a tenant must use their landlord.
  • The address must have used 100–6,000 m³ of gas in the latest billing year and must have, or have had, a gas boiler during that year.
  • Under Evida’s current criteria, businesses registered at the address must not together have received more than DKK 2,250,000 (€300,000) in de minimis aid during the preceding three years. This is the small-value state aid recorded for those businesses, rather than their sales revenue. Evida checks the Danish business register; an active business registration requires an aid declaration and details of previous aid. The three-year period rolls backwards from the assessment rather than following financial years.
  • Evida must receive your termination while the pool is open and still has funds. Awards are first come, first served; earlier paid terminations cannot receive retrospective cover.
  • If you keep gas for a cooker or other appliances after changing heating, Evida says a later termination will not qualify for the waiver.
  • If you hire an authorised installer to remove a meter or cabinet that obstructs your new heating, terminate the supply before removal. You pay that installer yourself, and must report the reading on the removal date.
  • Termination is binding and cannot be cancelled. By signing, you confirm your information and declarations are correct; false information found in a check leads to the disconnection fee being charged at the rate then applicable.

  • The 2026 pool is the final pool. Waivers are first come, first served while funds remain.

As the property owner, terminate through Mit Evida using MitID, your customer number and contract number. Complete the electronic signature and keep the receipt. Landlords, housing associations, people exempt from digital signing, and owners with both a gas boiler and gas cooker use Evida’s separate termination form; submit one termination per address.

If you are exempt from digital post, Evida checks whether funds are available and reserves them for you. It then sends a termination form that you must complete, sign and return within 30 days. If you have both a gas boiler and a gas cooker, Evida also reserves available funds and sends a form that you must complete and return. Sending the initial web form does not replace these returned-form steps.

If Evida has registered you as a business customer, use its separate business-customer termination route. Eligible residential addresses can still receive the waiver while funds remain; Evida reserves funds and sends a form to complete and return. Being registered as an Evida business customer differs from merely having a CVR business number at your address: a CVR number triggers the aid declaration in the ordinary online process.

Enter your expected changeover date and contact details. If the date is uncertain, obtain the expected date from your new heating supplier. The initial date can be at most 12 months ahead. The distribution terms require at least one month’s notice to the end of a month, and you remain responsible for compliance with your gas-supplier contract. The online process tells you whether the normal fee will be waived; check this before completing the binding termination.

Tell Evida if the new heating is delayed and provide written evidence from the supplier. To retain the waiver, a postponement can be at most 12 months and cannot move the changeover beyond 31 December 2027.

On the notified changeover date, report the final meter reading on Mit Evida with a photo showing the meter number and reading. Give Evida access to disconnect the supply. You remain a gas customer until the reading is accepted and the final account is settled. Evida informs your gas supplier and physically disconnects the pipe and meter within 18 months of changeover. If you cannot take the final reading yourself, Evida offers a technician route; you remain a customer while waiting for the reading.

Update the heating information in BBR, Denmark’s building register, through your municipality; this does not happen automatically.
