Diesel-boiler replacement feasibility study
Up to 40% of the cost of a diesel-boiler fuel-switching feasibility study or business case, capped at NZD50,000, for eligible New Zealand organisations.
Αυτή η ευκαιρία είναι προς το παρόν διαθέσιμη στα Αγγλικά.
EECA co-funds a feasibility study or business case for moving a diesel boiler system to an alternative fuel. Support covers up to 40% of the study cost, capped at NZD50,000; the applicant pays the rest. It helps assess whether the project is technically workable and financially worthwhile before an investment decision.
The study includes at least one day of detailed onsite analysis by a suitably qualified energy consultant and a report exploring viable solutions with detailed, comparable costs. The funded output is the study or business case, rather than the purchase and installation of replacement plant.
The pilot covers industrial or commercial diesel process-heat projects, including investigating renewable-fuel replacements and heating-system upgrades. Its climate relevance lies in opportunities to use renewable energy or reduce energy demand; the offer is not restricted solely to renewable-fuel conversions. EECA assesses the quality of information and the likelihood of cost-effective energy savings or renewable-energy uptake.
Eligibility
Businesses must be based and registered in New Zealand. State-owned enterprises, local councils and regional councils are also eligible. Annual bills for the diesel boiler system must be over NZD500,000, not merely equal to that amount. Public service departments, non-public service departments such as the New Zealand Defence Force, schools and statutory Crown entities are excluded.
The applicant must own or manage the plant or building concerned and be committed to implementing the project. Industrial and commercial projects can qualify, including investigating upgrades to a diesel heating system at a commercial complex or hotel, or converting/replacing process-heat plant to use renewable fuel.
