Energy-efficiency research grants
Grants for higher-education research and development in energy efficiency and renewable energy with local benefits for Lausanne and participating municipalities.

The Fonds pour l’efficacité énergétique (FEE) can provide a non-repayable contribution to research on using heat, cooling or electricity more efficiently, replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy, and producing renewable heat or electricity.
The award can carry individual conditions, and a research project may require a research contract. There is no entitlement to funding. Requests above CHF 100,000 require a municipal proposal to the Conseil communal, Lausanne’s municipal council.
Eligibility
- Apply as a higher-education institution for a research and development project that allows local benefits or applications. The fund’s purposes concern Lausanne and municipalities that contribute to it.
- Show how the project serves the fund’s purposes and state the expected results. Results must be visible and communicable; plan to check the achieved result as far as possible.
- Provide a brief annual assessment of the measure’s impact to the FEE administrator. At completion, submit a report showing the achieved results and present them to the committee if requested.
- Acknowledge FEE support in every oral or written project communication or presentation. Recovery claims for contributions obtained improperly, by misleading the authority or diverted from their purpose have a ten-year limitation period.

Describe the project and its expected results, indicators of success and benefits for the public. Complete the form’s schedule, risks, competing-projects, budget and funding sections, and explain any commercial or industrial use and treatment of intellectual property.
