Residential SHELD electric customers can receive $800 per ton, up to $2,400, for a qualifying air-source heat-pump upgrade in an existing home.

Αυτή η ευκαιρία είναι προς το παρόν διαθέσιμη στα Αγγλικά.

This entry covers a first-ever heat-pump rebate claim at your address for a new air-source system that upgrades an existing heating or cooling system. The rebate is $800 per ton of capacity, with one claim capped at $2,400 per address. One ton is 12,000 BTU per hour.

SHELD pays rebates of $750 or less as a credit on your electricity bill. For larger rebates, it mails a check to the account holder on file. SHELD reserves the right to limit, approve or deny applications.

Eligibility

  • You must be a current residential SHELD electric customer at the installation service address in South Hadley, Massachusetts.
  • The installed equipment must be new and must upgrade an existing appliance or system at the property. A licensed contractor must install it. Self-installations, contractor applicants and new construction are excluded.
  • Eversource natural gas customers are not eligible. Heat pumps installed with or through MassSave are also excluded.
  • The air-source system must have SEER2 of at least 15.2 and HSPF2 of at least 8.5 if nonducted, or at least 8.1 if ducted. These ratings measure seasonal cooling and heating efficiency. Its coefficient of performance (COP), the ratio of heat output to electricity input, must be at least 1.75 at 5°F at maximum capacity. Ratings must not be rounded up; use the equipment’s AHRI certificate to check them.
  • Purchase the eligible system between 1 January and 31 December 2026. Your application must be postmarked by 31 March 2027.
