Energy loan
An unsecured personal loan for individuals registered in Sweden to finance home insulation, efficient windows, solar panels or a replacement heating system.

You can finance solar panels or a wind turbine for your own electricity, replace an oil boiler with geothermal heating or a heat pump, change old windows, insulate your house or install an environmentally approved sewage system.
Borrow SEK 20,000–600,000 over 3–12 years. The energy loan is ICA Banken’s unsecured personal loan: you repay principal and interest monthly, and the bank sets your variable interest rate individually. The loan is not secured against your home.
Billing is free with Kivra or direct debit; paper invoices cost SEK 35 each. From income year 2026, interest on this personal loan is not tax deductible.
You can repay extra or settle the loan early without a charge. Contact ICA Banken for instructions; the bank checks where the money comes from and may require documents showing its origin.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 and registered as resident in Sweden.
- You must have a fixed income of at least SEK 240,000 per year and no payment-default records.
- You may apply with another borrower. Each of you is responsible for the entire repayment if the other cannot pay.
The application must be approved before the bank pays out the loan.
How to apply

Use ICA Banken’s energy-loan calculator and select the amount and repayment period, then proceed to the application. Identify yourself with Mobile BankID, view your interest offer and sign with Mobile BankID.
After approval, the bank pays the money into your ICA Banken account within a few days. An account is opened during the application if you do not already have one.
