Borrow for a home solar system, related roof repairs or a Tesla Powerwall if you qualify for credit union membership.

The loan finances a home solar system through Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union and a local solar installer. You can also finance roof repairs and a Tesla Powerwall as part of the solar offering.
You can borrow up to $100,000, based on combined loan amounts. You repay the money over a term of up to 10 years, with no payments for the first three months. The credit union charges a one-time $750 processing fee when it first pays out the loan; you must pay that fee separately because it cannot be added to the loan. There is no penalty for paying the loan off early.
Eligibility
You must qualify for Nassau Financial membership and receive credit approval. The lending decision depends on your credit history and other criteria.
Membership is open to people who live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school in Nassau County or eligible portions of Suffolk County, New York. Eligible family and household connections also provide a route to membership. The solar loan page specifically names siblings, children, grandchildren and household members of existing members; the current membership guidance also includes step and adoptive relationships.
Joining requires a $5 deposit into a Share Savings Account.
