Heat pump water heater rebate
A $750 rebate per new ENERGY STAR certified heat pump water heater replacing an older electric water heater at a home with Dominion Energy South Carolina residential electricity service.

Heat pump water heaters move heat from the surrounding air into the water tank, using less electricity than a standard electric resistance water heater.
The rebate applies to purchased or leased equipment and is paid by check. Payment goes to the electric account holder by default; a property owner who is not the account holder can receive it by submitting an IRS Form W9.
Eligibility
- The installation property must have an active Dominion Energy South Carolina residential electric account. You must be the customer of record for that account or own the property. If you are the property owner but not the account holder, include an IRS Form W9.
- The water heater must be new and ENERGY STAR certified. Check that your unit qualifies in the ENERGY STAR water heater product finder. A licensed plumbing contractor must install it, and you are responsible for meeting applicable codes, standards and requirements. Install the equipment before applying.
- The new unit must replace an older electric water heater. Replacing a gas water heater, switching fuels, or installing a unit without replacing an older electric water heater does not qualify.
- Dispose of the removed equipment legally. It must not be reinstalled in Dominion Energy South Carolina’s service territory or transferred to someone else for installation there. You cannot receive multiple rebates for the same equipment.
Dominion Energy South Carolina may inspect the installation. If the property does not have the qualifying equipment described in your application, you must repay the rebate. If you remove equipment after receiving its rebate, you must reimburse the rebate plus associated legal or collection costs. The provider may amend or discontinue the programme without notice.

Have a licensed plumbing contractor install the qualifying water heater, then complete and sign the rebate application. Check that the contractor has entered the new equipment details correctly. Submit the application and the detailed installation invoice proving purchase or lease within 90 days of installation.
Email the documents to EnergyTeam@SC.DominionEnergyAccount.com or mail them to Dominion Energy South Carolina, 220 Operation Way, Mail Code DSM OSC-2A, Cayce, SC 29033-3701. Include an IRS Form W9 if payment should go to a property owner who is not the electric account holder.
Rebates are processed approximately four to six weeks after a complete application and invoice are received. Incomplete applications may be delayed or denied.
