You can borrow up to USD 60,000 for home solar. The amount available depends on your credit score and credit approval. Energy efficiency improvements can be included if they are completed during the solar installation and listed in the sales contract.

You repay the borrowed money with interest. The bank publishes 10-, 15- and 20-year terms, with respective interest rates of 7.290%, 7.790% and 8.290%. Its published annual percentage rates (APRs), which include the USD 99 one-time processing fee on a USD 5,000 example loan, are 7.737%, 8.117% and 8.563%. These rates are effective from 14 August 2025 and may change. The table’s monthly payment examples assume automatic deductions from a Mascoma Bank account.

Your home is not used as collateral. Payments may change after the first 12 months according to tax credits or other money you pay towards the loan principal, meaning the amount you borrowed. You do not have to put tax credits towards the loan.
