We Save residential energy rebates
A rebate for residential electricity customers who buy an ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostat for their home.

The smart thermostat rebate pays $50, limited to 50% of the price you paid. The rebate is issued only to the customer.
Buy and install a new qualifying thermostat. Smart thermostats adjust heating and cooling to energy-saving temperatures while you are asleep or away.
Eligibility
- You must be a residential customer receiving electric service from the City of Brownton. Your customer account is part of the claim.
- The new smart thermostat must be on the ENERGY STAR certified product list when you buy it. Check the model in the ENERGY STAR connected-thermostat product finder linked in the instructions.
- The limit is one rebate per thermostat per customer account per year.
- Apply within one year of the purchase date on your receipt and by November 30, 2026.
- Claims are processed in order of receipt. Annual funds are limited, and the programme, qualifications and amounts may change at any time.

Complete the 2026 thermostat rebate application with your customer account and contact details, retailer or contractor, thermostat manufacturer and model, and heating system. Attach a dated sales receipt; the information in your application must match it. Incomplete applications are not processed.
The City’s programme page also requests an EnergyGuide label with the rebate form and receipt. Include it with your submission.
Sign and date the application to certify that the information is accurate, confirm that you have read the instructions, and agree that the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) may verify it.
