Ceiling insulation rebate
Edmond Electric residential customers can receive $250–$500 for adding ceiling insulation to an eligible home.

Add insulation in your attic or roof space to reduce heat moving into and out of your home.
The rebate depends on insulation already in place: $500 for R-0 to R-4, $300 for R-5 to R-14, and $250 for R-15 to R-22. Existing insulation of R-23 or above receives no rebate. R-value is the insulation rating used to calculate the rebate; the finished insulation must reach at least R-49 for the payment. If initial insulation levels vary, OMPA uses an overall average. If all insulation must be removed, its level before removal determines the payment. Edmond Electric pays after approval.
Eligibility
- You must be an Edmond Electric residential customer. The required free in-person audit serves homes 10 years or older and must happen before any changes.
- Insulation must sit between heated or cooled living space and unconditioned space in the residence's attic or roof. Insulation above a garage that has not been converted to living space is excluded, as are buildings, garages, apartments and sheds outside the home's footprint.
- Converting unconditioned space into living space does not qualify on its own. Insulation over a converted garage can qualify if that garage is heated and cooled and the entire home's attic reaches at least R-49.
- Builders of new homes and apartment complexes do not qualify. Individual homes in a building sharing one roof can qualify. Mobile homes generally do not qualify, but may be considered individually.
- You may install insulation yourself or use a professional. Spray foam must be installed by a qualified professional.
- The criteria require finished insulation at least 12 inches deep or rated R-49; the rebate calculation separately requires a final rating of at least R-49. Arrange the inspection within 90 days after installation.

Before changing the insulation, request the free in-person audit from Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA) at audit@ompa.com or 405-359-2520. Review the rebate criteria, then install the extra insulation.
Call 405-359-2520 to request the postinstallation inspection within 90 days. OMPA inspects the insulation and handles the rebate request form, which must be fully completed and signed. Submit the application to OMPA with a copy of the contractor or materials invoice, receipt, or both, and a copy of the original energy audit report showing initial insulation depth or R-value. Edmond Electric provides the rebate after approval.
