Heat-pump rebate
Get $150 per qualifying heat pump for an FEC member’s new or existing home, or a commercial account using residential-size equipment.

Install or replace an efficient heat pump in a new home, a renovation or an existing building. The rebate supports qualifying equipment and includes an on-site equipment check by Fayette Electric Cooperative (FEC).
FEC mails the $150-per-unit rebate to the member after verifying the installation. The installing dealer receives a separate $20 fee per house.
Eligibility
- You must be an FEC member/account holder. New and existing single-family and multi-family homes qualify, as do new and existing commercial members/accounts using residential-size equipment. The claim form asks for your FEC account number and the installation address separately from your mailing address.
- This entry covers heat pumps with their condenser and indoor coil combination rated in the ARI (American Refrigeration Institute) manual. The system must be 1–5 nominal tons, with a maximum cooling capacity of 63,000 British thermal units per hour (BTUH).
- A central split or packaged heat pump must have a seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) of at least 14. A central water-source or ground-source heat pump must have an energy efficiency ratio (EER) of at least 14, using the ARI low-temperature column to calculate its rating. These are the equipment efficiency ratings your dealer records and checks against the ARI listing. Two-speed equipment is rated at high speed and must meet at least 14 SEER.
- The installer must hold a valid Texas Air-Conditioning Contractors License (TACL) and/or a superseding municipal licence. A dealer from another state must hold a valid licence in their state of residence. Installation must follow the manufacturer’s specifications and applicable electrical, plumbing and mechanical codes.
- Window units and central air conditioners using electric resistance heat as their primary heating source are excluded.

Call an FEC member service representative on 979-968-3181 or 1-866-968-3181 to discuss the programme when planning your installation.
Complete the linked HVAC Rebate Form. Include your member/account details, FEC account number, installation and mailing addresses, and all required equipment information. The dealer completes the dealer-only section. Record equipment details, including the installation date, condenser and coil models, capacity, efficiency rating and ARI page/edition. Both member and dealer must sign; all information, including the appropriate homeowner’s signature, must be complete.
The dealer notifies FEC during installation or after the qualifying job is complete by sending the completed forms. Mail them to Fayette Electric Cooperative, P.O. Box 490, La Grange, TX 78945, Attn: Power Use Department. You have six months after installation of the qualifying unit to receive the rebate. FEC verifies that the new equipment has been installed before processing and mailing the member incentive and dealer fee.
