Greentech VC investment
Green technology companies can seek equity investment for technology development, growth and international expansion. SEB invests across Europe, focusing on the Nordic and Baltic markets.
SEB Greentech VC invests directly from SEB’s balance sheet. This is investment in company ownership: SEB acts as an active minority shareholder and seeks a board seat.
Initial investments are often SEK 10–40 million. Its structure allows continued investment as long as SEB adds value. The capital supports technology development, growth and expansion.
Eligibility
The company’s technology should promise substantial reductions in greenhouse gas emissions or help prevent planetary boundaries from being exceeded: environmental limits within which Earth’s natural systems can function safely. SEB considers hardware, software and technology platforms, including renewable energy, energy storage, water and agricultural technology, circular business models and waste management.
Companies are expected to have tested and adapted their technology in real operating conditions. Recurring revenue from key customers is preferred. Teams should be committed to their mission and ready to scale internationally.
