Climate technology investment
Investment for founders worldwide whose early-stage companies are bringing renewable-energy, carbon-management, electric-vehicle, battery or other climate technologies to market; Toyota Ventures provides money in return for a share of the company.
Toyota Ventures invests in early-stage companies working on renewable energy, hydrogen, carbon capture, removal or use, electric-vehicle solutions, batteries, energy storage and other sustainability technologies.
This is equity funding: if Toyota Ventures invests, it provides money in return for becoming a part-owner of your company. It is not a grant or a loan. Portfolio companies can also receive practical support with business development, products, further fundraising, marketing and executive coaching.
Eligibility
This route fits when:
- you are a founder seeking funding for an early-stage company;
- your company is still bringing its technology or business model to market, rather than seeking later, growth-stage capital;
- the company develops a solution in one of Toyota Ventures' climate-technology areas, such as renewable energy, hydrogen, carbon management, electric vehicles, batteries, energy storage or sustainability;
- you are an entrepreneur based anywhere in the world.
Toyota Ventures directs companies seeking growth-stage capital to Woven Capital instead.
