Growth investment for established agrifood companies
Equity investment of €15–80 million for profitable agrifood companies with €10–200 million in revenue, including businesses scaling solutions that reduce emissions across food and agriculture.
Astanor Growth invests in established food and agriculture businesses that are profitable, growing quickly and ready to expand. Its published investment size is €15–80 million, targeting companies with €10–200 million in revenue. It supports both business growth and small buyouts—the purchase of ownership in an existing business.
Astanor becomes a shareholder and can take either a minority or a majority stake. The investment is predominantly without leverage, meaning borrowed money is generally not used to finance the investment transaction. Alongside capital, Astanor offers operational support: strengthening the organisation, combining businesses or making additional acquisitions, improving efficiency and expanding internationally. This is an ownership investment, with an active investor involved in the company’s development.
The climate-relevant part of this broader agrifood strategy includes solutions that lower emissions from farming, food production, materials and waste. Astanor measures both a company’s own footprint and the emissions its solution avoids compared with a conventional product performing the same function. Its wider mandate also includes nutrition, health, biodiversity and social outcomes; those themes alone do not establish that a business reduces emissions.
In its 2026 Growth profile, Astanor describes a focus on proven European agrifood and regenerative-agriculture companies and lists Europe and North America as regions of activity or interest. This is a growth and small-buyout strategy, distinct from Astanor’s earlier-stage Venture offer.
Eligibility
Your company needs a proven business model, demonstrated technology and market fit—evidence that its technology works and serves a real customer need—profitability and the ability to scale. Astanor seeks founders and management teams aligned with its impact goals. The company must show how its business model will produce measurable positive change, not simply describe sustainability as an ambition.
The company must contribute to at least one of six objectives without harming the others: reducing greenhouse-gas emissions, protecting biodiversity, saving water, supporting social welfare, promoting health or collecting information that enables climate and sustainability decisions. For an emissions-reduction business, prepare evidence comparing your solution with the product or process it replaces, alongside information about your own operational and value-chain emissions.
Astanor assesses environmental, social and governance practices in proportion to the company’s maturity. Its safeguards assess the company’s environmental and social management system and require appropriate corporate governance. They check that the company does not operate in highly polluting or resource-intensive industries, harm nature, handle dangerous substances in ways that threaten workers’ health or safety, or operate in countries considered high-risk for money laundering, terrorist financing or corruption. Investment documents include impact and sustainability commitments, such as compliance with international labour and human-rights standards.
Be prepared for continuing measurement and governance work after investment. Astanor describes an impact assessment within six months, an agreed starting point and improvement plan, suitable performance indicators and an environmental, social and governance questionnaire. It aims for a board seat and establishes an impact committee that reports to the board at least twice a year. It also encourages changes to the company’s governing documents to prepare for B Corp certification, which assesses a company against social, environmental and governance standards.

Use Astanor’s entrepreneur contact page to share your pitch or connect with the investment team. The form requests contact and company details, country of operations, investment stage, sector, a mission statement of no more than 50 words and the impact objectives your company contributes to. Explain how the company meets the Growth strategy’s profitability, revenue and proven-market criteria.
Astanor’s published process starts with the investment and impact teams reviewing the company’s impact and sustainability practices. The impact director or a delegate assesses the prerequisites, and a positive assessment goes to the partners’ investment committee for a decision. The investment terms embed the agreed impact and sustainability commitments.
After investment, the company and Astanor review progress regularly and formally at least annually, update the impact report and questionnaire, and agree the improvement plan for the following year.
