Sustainability loan for sport and culture organisations

Gemeente ScherpenzeelNetherlands2.5–160k EUR

Nonprofit sport and culture organisations in Scherpenzeel can borrow for energy-saving or renewable-energy improvements to the buildings they use.

The loan supports measures that demonstrably reduce energy demand or CO₂ emissions, or increase the share of renewable energy. It covers existing buildings, renovation and new construction, including detached ancillary buildings on the same plot, where the property is suitable and intended for your nonprofit activities.

Borrow €2,500–€160,000 per organisation at 0.5% annual interest over ten years. Repayment is by annuity: regular payments cover interest and repayment of the amount borrowed. You must provide collateral; its requirements depend on factors including the loan amount and term.

The municipality assesses necessary materials and work costs. Energy advice, permit fees, costs of obtaining the loan and labour charged by a specialist contractor may also be included. Your own contribution and other assistance received or still to be received for these costs are deducted.

Eligibility

  • Your organisation must be in Scherpenzeel, active in sport and/or culture, and operate without a profit motive. It must own or rent and also use the accommodation being built or renovated. An authorised representative can apply; where two or more legal entities apply together, they count jointly as the applicant.
  • Apply before starting the sustainability measures. The municipality refuses applications submitted after work has started or been carried out.
  • Costs must be reasonable in relation to the expected result, and the ordinance’s conditions must be met. The municipal executive can attach additional conditions to an award.

The municipality can withdraw an award wholly or partly if you fail to comply with the rules or supplied incorrect information. In special circumstances, it may depart from the ordinance where strict application would lead to an unreasonable decision.
