Venture Accelerator

Carbon13Europe150–250k EURcloses 30 Sept 2026

An eight-week remote accelerator for UK- or EU-registered climate startups, with a chance to pitch for €150,000–€250,000 of pre-seed investment.

Work one to one with Carbon13 on your product, route to market, technology plan, traction, investment readiness and climate-impact case. Startups entering the eight-week first phase give Carbon13 1% in options for its advisory role.

At the end of this phase, you can pitch for €150,000–€250,000 from Carbon13. Carbon13 provides the investment through a SAFE, an agreement intended to convert into a 4–7% ownership stake in your company. Investment is not guaranteed. Ventures that receive it enter a 12-month growth phase focused on reaching milestones and raising a later €1–€3 million round; other participants receive lighter-touch support.

Eligibility

Carbon13 says your startup should:

  • have at least two founders and be registered in the UK or European Union;
  • be an early-stage software or deeptech/science-based venture addressing climate change, decarbonisation, adaptation, resilience or another threat to Earth's life-support systems; and
  • plan to raise €1–€3 million within the next 12–18 months.

Carbon13 also looks for startups that have raised no equity, or only a small round that was most likely without institutional investment.

You should be aiming for impact at the scale of millions of tonnes of annual emissions reduction, or an equivalent benefit for areas such as biodiversity or water. You do not need a complete route to that impact when applying, but you should understand your solution's potential.

For a software venture, bring at least a minimum viable product, evidence of traction, a strong understanding of the industry and problem, and a clear connection between the founders' experience and that problem. Carbon13 also looks for software teams that treat AI as a foundation for the product and can execute quickly.

For a science-based or deeptech venture, Carbon13 usually looks for level 6–7 on its technology-readiness scale, which describes how far the technology has progressed towards commercial use. It may consider level 5 or 8. The team should combine technical expertise—such as a PhD or equivalent experience—with credible commercial leadership, and should bring intellectual property or a co-founder who will lead product development.
