SG Eco Fund Climate Adaptation Package
Grants for individuals, community teams and Singapore organisations to build heat resilience, protect against floods, conserve water or promote local produce.
You can fund projects that raise awareness and help communities act on heat resilience, flood protection, water conservation or local produce. Examples include volunteer networks that help residents reduce heat stress, community-designed flood solutions, household water-saving programmes and activities that encourage people to buy local produce.
The package reimburses up to 90% of eligible costs, with a maximum grant of S$1 million per project. Eligible costs include professional services, venue rental, educational materials, publicity, logistics and transport, and equipment or tools needed to implement the project.
It does not pay for overheads such as staff or team-member payments, premises or land rental and utilities. Vehicle fuel, long-term vehicle rental, construction of buildings or enclosed structures, food and drink, gifts and prizes, overseas or foreign-visitor expenses, media advertising space and Goods and Services Tax (GST) are also excluded.
Funding normally comes after you complete the milestones and deliverables agreed with the Trust before the project begins. Only costs incurred after the agreed start date in your offer letter can be reimbursed, and funding lasts no more than three years from that date. After receiving an award, you may request upfront funding from the Trust before the start date, explaining why you need it.
For each milestone claim, submit a progress or completion report and copies of receipts, invoices or payment records. If your approved grant is more than S$30,000, each claim also needs an external auditor’s report of factual findings; include the auditor’s fee in your application budget. Submit the final reimbursement claim within three months of project completion and keep original paper receipts for three years after completion. Reimbursement may be withheld or adjusted if you miss agreed targets and the Trust does not accept your reasons.
You and the SG Eco Fund Board of Trustees will jointly own intellectual property created in relation to the project. The fund may use it for charitable purposes.
Eligibility
- An individual must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, aged at least 18 and living in Singapore. In a team of individuals, every member must be at least 18 and live in Singapore; at least one must be a citizen or permanent resident.
- Singapore-registered companies, charities and non-government organisations, as well as government agencies, can apply. Organisations applying together must choose one main applicant. That organisation signs the offer, submits claims and receives reimbursements; claim invoices and payment records must show its name.
- Your project must improve the environment or advance environmental sustainability in Singapore and engage or involve the community. Community participation means helping people take environmental action or involving them in design and implementation. A company’s employees alone do not count as the community.
- The same project cannot receive another government grant. You may seek non-government funding, and you must declare your funding sources in the application.
- The project’s main objective must not be commercial or profit-making. Reasonable, non-excessive project revenue is permitted.
- Assessment considers your team’s skills, a feasible and innovative plan, tangible and measurable environmental outcomes, sustained benefits, measurable community engagement and reasonable costs relative to impact.
- An existing project can qualify if you explain why it is needed and how replication adds environmental benefit or improves the project. Each application must cover one project; the same programme repeated across locations or communities counts as one project. If you apply for several projects, show that you have enough people and resources to manage them.

Submit the online form and a proposal deck of no more than 15 slides. For an organisation requesting more than S$30,000, also provide an ACRA business profile or ROS profile, audited financial reports for the last three years and CVs of key project team members. Public agencies are exempt from the financial reports and CVs. If your organisation is exempt from audited accounts, provide unaudited reports instead. If shortlisted, you may be invited to give a ten-minute presentation. The ministry states that an application outcome is normally notified within three to six months.
