Heat pump and geothermal rebates
Members can receive $300 for a qualifying new air-to-air heat pump or $800 for a new geothermal heating system in the cooperative’s Ohio service territory.
The air-to-air heat pump rebate is $300 for installation with a fossil-fuel furnace, including adding a unit to an existing furnace, or with an electric resistance furnace.
The geothermal rebate is $800 for installation with electric resistance supplemental heat or fossil-fuel backup. It covers new construction and replacement of an existing heating system.
Eligibility
You must be a Tricounty Rural Electric Cooperative member. The installation must be in its electric service territory in Ohio; use the cooperative’s territory-map page to check the address.
- All heat pump and geothermal units must be new.
- For the air-to-air heat pump route, a wood burner cannot qualify as the fossil-fuel heat source. Set the heating cutoff temperature to 35°F or lower. This is the system setting for cutting off heat-pump heating.
- A geothermal system must have electric resistance supplemental heat or fossil-fuel backup.
