Borrow up to €80,000 for home energy upgrades or electric transport as a credit union member in the Letterkenny area.

Esta oportunidad está disponible actualmente en inglés.

Finance insulation for walls, attics and floors; window and door upgrades; ventilation; heat pumps and solar panels; sustainable water systems; boiler upgrades and pipe insulation; and energy-efficient heating controls. The same loan also covers battery electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles, home chargers, and electric bikes or scooters.

Letterkenny Credit Union lends you money that you repay with interest. You can borrow up to €80,000 for a maximum of ten years. Repayments must be made by Direct Debit or deductions from your pay. There are no penalties for early repayment. Missed repayments can put your account into arrears and affect your credit rating and future access to credit.

Eligibility

You must be a member of Letterkenny Credit Union. New members qualify if they live, work or study in its local membership area, called the common bond. This centres on Letterkenny and extends to Ramelton, Ballyare, Loughkeel, Termon, Kilmacrennan, Gortnavern, Castlewray, Gartan, Churchill, Seacor, Meenacarragh, Killymasney, Corravaddy and Magheraboy. Existing members may retain membership after moving outside the area or leaving their job.

Deposit at least €10 to open your membership account and keep that minimum balance. Joining costs €1.27, and an annual affiliation fee of €0.95 is deducted from the account. An account with less than €10 may be closed.

The credit union must establish that you can afford the repayments, including interest, throughout the loan term. Loan approval depends on this assessment.
