Rainwater retention grant

Gmina KarpaczPoloniahasta 5 mil PLNcierra 31 oct 2026

Reimbursement of 80% of eligible rainwater retention system costs, up to PLN 5,000 per property, for non-business properties in Karpacz.

Esta oportunidad está disponible actualmente en inglés.

The Karpacz Łapie Deszczówkę programme supports systems that collect and use rainwater and snowmelt where they fall. Examples include above-ground or underground tanks, soakaways, rain gardens and infiltration swales—shallow depressions that collect water and let it soak into the ground. Retention protects water resources and helps adaptation to climate change.

Eligible costs include technical designs and water-permit documentation, buying, building and installing system equipment, and adapting an existing installation to connect it to rainwater collection. Costs must have been incurred since the resolution entered into force. The municipality reimburses 80% of eligible expenditure, up to PLN 5,000 per property; a land property can receive the grant only once. If you can deduct VAT on the investment, the grant uses net costs.

Eligibility

This listing covers properties within Karpacz’s administrative boundaries where no business activity takes place and no business has its registered office. You must hold a legal title to the property and submit current proof of it.

  • If you are not the owner, obtain the owner’s consent. For jointly owned property, provide all co-owners’ consent, or a housing community resolution approving the project and the allocation of its costs.
  • The system must retain and use water on the property, provide a lasting water-retention benefit and avoid adverse changes to water conditions on neighbouring plots.
  • Rainwater infrastructure built as part of new road, housing, service or industrial developments covered by a building permit is excluded. The same expenditure cannot be financed from other non-repayable sources.

The municipality may inspect the funded equipment for five years from the grant award, checking that it remains at the site and still delivers the water-retention benefit. Statutory recovery rules under Articles 251–252 of Poland’s Public Finance Act require repayment in whole or part, with interest calculated as for tax arrears, when the circumstances covered by those provisions arise.

Complete the work before applying. Download the form from the municipal notice. If a representative applies for you, include their authorisation and proof of payment of the PLN 17 stamp duty. Spouses, parents and other direct ancestors, children and other direct descendants, and siblings are exempt from that duty. Keep original documents available for inspection.

Complete, correctly filled applications are considered in order of submission while funds remain. Late applications are not considered; an incomplete or incorrect application is left unconsidered if you fail to correct it within the requested deadline. The municipality may request further explanations or documents. It checks the application and visits the site; after the site-visit report is signed, it concludes a written grant agreement.
