Hybrid and electric vehicle loan discount
Members can borrow to buy a hybrid or electric vehicle with an extra 0.25 percentage-point reduction in the loan rate.

The credit union lends money towards your vehicle purchase, which you repay with interest over the agreed loan term. Financing can reach 120% of the purchase price or Kelley Blue Book retail value, subject to credit approval. New-vehicle terms can run for up to 84 months; used-vehicle terms for up to 72 months.
Financing can also include tax, title and licensing costs.
The hybrid/electric discount reduces your qualifying loan rate by an additional 0.25 percentage points. Your final rate depends on your creditworthiness, vehicle year and loan term. The best advertised new and used rates include a 0.50 percentage-point discount for a term of no more than 36 months and 0.25 percentage points for automatic payments from your UCSCU account. Your rate can rise if you stop those automatic payments. Rates and terms can change, and the lowest rate is not available to every member.
Eligibility
You must qualify for credit union membership and the loan is subject to credit approval.
- Membership is open if you live, work, regularly worship or currently attend school in Los Angeles County.
- Membership also covers current and retired Universal Studios employees and their immediate families, subsidiary companies and affiliated divisions, and other organizations doing business within Universal City.
- Eligible relatives of members include spouses, children, parents, grandchildren, grandparents, brothers and sisters, and spouses or children of those relatives. Domestic partners must live in the same house as the member. Spouses of people who died while within the credit union’s membership field also qualify. A child who leaves the family household keeps membership, and their spouse, children and immediate family members can qualify.
Joining requires a $1 one-time membership fee and a $5 initial savings deposit. Membership can continue if you change jobs, retire or move away.

Apply through the credit union’s vehicle-loan application linked on its official vehicle-loans page. New members can complete the online membership application; include a copy of government-issued ID and separate proof of eligibility, such as an employment badge, utility bill or class registration.
