Energy-efficiency rebates for home heat pumps

Taylor Electric CooperativeWisconsin

Residential members can claim rebates for new air-source, mini-split or geothermal heat pumps installed on Taylor Electric Cooperative’s electricity lines.

Esta oportunidad está disponible actualmente en inglés.

Taylor Electric Cooperative pays a rebate after approving your claim for an eligible home heat pump. Air-source and mini-split heat pumps receive $200 per ton of rated capacity; geothermal heat pumps receive $400 per ton. The incentive cannot exceed the equipment cost, and you cannot receive separate incentives for a measure and a component of that same measure, such as a heat pump and its blower motor.

The form calculates capacity using 12,000 British thermal units per hour (Btu/h) per ton. For equipment below one ton, round up to the nearest quarter ton; above one ton, round up to the nearest half ton. The requested incentive is the qualifying size multiplied by quantity and the per-ton incentive.

Eligibility

  • You must be a Taylor Electric Cooperative member claiming for a residential installation. The equipment must be new and installed on the cooperative’s electricity lines.
  • Air-source and mini-split heat pumps must meet both cooling and heating efficiency thresholds: SEER2 of at least 14.3 and HSPF2 of at least 7.5, or SEER of at least 15 and HSPF of at least 8.8. These are the seasonal cooling and heating ratings used to check equipment efficiency; use the matching rating pair on the claim form.
  • Purchase and install the equipment during 2026. Submit the claim no later than three months after purchase and within three months of installation.
  • Rebates run through December 31, 2026, but may end earlier if funding for an incentive or the overall programme runs out. The programme may change or be cancelled without notice; the form directs members to contact the cooperative about any additional eligibility criteria.
