Small-commercial heat pump rebates
Rebates for JMEC small-commercial members installing qualifying ducted or ductless air-source heat pumps.

The rebate is $500 for a system with capacity of 1.5 tons or less (18,000 BTUs), or $1,500 for a larger system. The payment is the lower of the stated rebate and 50% of equipment cost.
Ducted systems can receive a further $500 bonus when propane or natural-gas backup heating can heat at least 50% of the building space at an outdoor temperature of 17°F. This makes the highest stated incentive $2,000 for a system above 1.5 tons meeting that backup condition, subject to the equipment-cost limit.
Eligibility
- You must be a JMEC member/owner applying for a small-commercial installation at your JMEC-served account in New Mexico.
- Ducted and ductless equipment must meet ENERGY STAR version 6.1 and have a minimum HSPF2 seasonal heating-efficiency rating of 7.8. AHRI certification and/or an AHRI number is required to identify the certified system.
- Rebates cover completed purchases or installed projects, with paid receipts. Used, refurbished and free equipment is ineligible. Discounts can reduce the rebate.
- Rebates are limited to one per account per year unless the programme states otherwise.

Before buying equipment or applying, contact JMEC’s Natalie Gallegos at 505-367-1114 or ngallegos@jemezcoop.org to verify participation and application requirements; the local cooperative may impose product restrictions.
Complete and sign the heat pump rebate form, identify the commercial consumer type and provide the equipment details. Include your most recent JMEC electric bill, proof of purchase and the ENERGYGUIDE card showing the brand and model, together with the required AHRI certification and/or number.
Submit the claim within 90 days of purchase to Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative, c/o Rebate Processing – Natalie Gallegos, P.O. Box 128, Espanola, NM 87532-0128. The form asks whom the rebate check should be made payable to.
