Air-source heat pump rebate

Princeton Municipal Light DepartmentMassachusettscierra 31 ene 2027

Residential electric customers can receive $500 per ton towards a qualifying air-source heat pump, including a mini-split, installed at their Princeton service address.

Esta oportunidad está disponible actualmente en inglés.

The rebate is calculated from the cooling capacity in British thermal units (BTUs) on your equipment’s AHRI certificate, with 12,000 BTUs equal to one ton. Support is $500 per ton, limited to three tons and $1,500 per address per calendar year.

Claims below $1,000 are paid as an electric bill credit. Claims above $1,000 are paid by electronic funds transfer or cheque.

Eligibility

  • You must be a Princeton Municipal Light Department electric customer claiming for equipment at your service address.
  • Buy and install the heat pump between 1 January and 31 December 2026. A Massachusetts licensed contractor must install it; self-installation is excluded.
  • Air-source heat pumps, including mini-splits, must have SEER2 of at least 15.2, HSPF2 of at least 8.1 and COP of at least 1.75 at 5°F. SEER2 is the seasonal cooling-efficiency rating, HSPF2 the seasonal heating-performance rating and COP the coefficient of performance used for the cold-weather threshold. Check the equipment ratings with your contractor; ratings cannot be rounded up to qualify. Cooling-only ductless mini-splits are excluded.
  • Your signature certifies that you received a Manual J sizing report from your contractor and are satisfied that the heat pump will meet your heating and air-conditioning needs.
